Thanks to Mike Perkins and David Thraxton from NCPA for their support
and help in setting up the league. Challenge match between Norfolk County
teams and NENPL was played in October and another one is scheduled for
early February. Also inter-league challenge match involving NENPL, Norfolk
and Yarmouth pool leagues took place in November. Hopefully both will
be regular matches.
12 players attended the county trials in December of which 6 qualified
for the final stage on 10th January.
4. Website – many thanks to John Pye for setting up the website
– Well received and comments on how informative it is, even from
other leagues.
5. Summer league – It was agreed that due to the current season
ending in May, there would not be enough time for this. However, a discussion
will be held at the next meeting in May regarding potential new teams,
invitations to other leagues and how to fill in the 3 month gap to the
start off the winter season in September.

no more than 12 would attend each game with 2 or 3 players on standby
if needed. Squad made up of top 8 available players in rankings plus 4
wild cards agreed between captain and vice-captain. Phil Sneddon and Jonathan
Larter were proposed and seconded as captain and vice-captain.
7. Other Points – The following points were agreed:-

ii). Referees Exams – Committee would look into attending them asap
with the object of some players qualifying at the lowest grade E.

for the interleague team.
iv). Committee to look into holding a scotch pairs tournament, possibly
on finals night, with random partners, to increase attendance on the night.
