Well you do not have to go far to before fishing is evident. The Staithe mooring area outside the front of the Hotel is popular. A plaque is on a spot where “EEEEE” fished the same spot for xx years.
The Broads offers opportunity over a whole host of different fish. Some of those in the broads listed below are not record weights but what you can expect. They have been caught outside the Hotel to these weights so we know they aren’t just a fisherman’s tail.
Of course you never know that 30lb Pike may just be yours!
Pike is for many the biggest attraction. Look out for their teeth.

Fancy a day away from the broads? Well there is plenty of good pond and lake fishing to be had locally. In fact there are dozens of venues locally.
We would be happy to give you a list of them and always do for our angling customers and discuss current hot spots. Personally my favourite fishing is Carp.
I consider the Hotel lucky to have the “Catch 22” fishery just down the road.
Over two thousand Carp plus pike and bream and I have never caught a carp under 10lb’s from Catch 22. I have regularly had 12 carp in a twenty four session from this water and I am not an exceptional angler by a long shot. It is not cheap but it is simply exceptional.

Also within twenty minutes of the Hotel are several waters that produce all the fresh water pond species and some especially good tench venues.
Fancy braving the Sea Fishing? Well, I have to say this isn’t for me but a lot of anglers that come here love it. We are only twenty minutes or so from Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Day excursions are easily obtained and then there is always the option of beach casting although local Anglers do say it does not produce as well as it did years ago.
